As your child continues along their learning pathway and gets closer to the world outside Billanook, we encourage and support students to take an interest in and responsibility for their learning program.
The breadth of Senior School studies means that your child can follow their interests and passions and create their future.
We understand the overwhelming decisions that Senior Students have to make, and we offer pastoral support through individualised mentoring, as well as academic and careers advice from trained professionals. An atmosphere of positivity encourages your child to make informed decisions for their future – whatever that may be.
Billanook offers a broader range of VCE subjects than most schools, allowing your child to follow their true interests and passions. Your child will have choices that range from English and Mathematics through to Business Management, Theatre Studies and Languages. As students enter the Senior School, they are also offered the opportunity to undertake accelerated VCE subjects in Year 10. If they choose to challenge themselves with this option, it can help lessen the pressure of VCE studies over Year 11 and 12. Accelerated subjects can also help provide your child with a better understanding of VCE processes, greater appreciation of VCE requirements, and a greater breadth of studies so they can choose more widely in Year 11 and 12.
We believe in different pathways and choices, so we also provide access to a range of vocational programs (VET).
VET courses allow students to either follow a vocational pathway, or enrich and diversify their VCE studies. After successful completion of a two-year program, students receive their VCE as well as an industry approved certificate in their chosen studies. All VET courses contribute towards a student’s final ATAR scores.

Students also have access to a wide range of VET programs as part of Billanook’s membership of the Yarra Valley VET Cluster Group. VET programs offered may include:
