> Employment at Billanook College

At Billanook, our Staff are central to the mission of the School. We aim to recruit and sustain a workforce focused on the shared vision of Billanook College. To support our Staff we have developed policies and procedures and facilitate programs which promote a safe and fair working environment, encourage continuous improvement, and offer development, as well as looking after Staff interests and conditions of employment and personal welfare.

We seek 'the best' whose passion in their skill area is matched by a love of learning and a joy of working with young people. All teachers at Billanook College are members of a learning community who act as role models and facilitators of learning. Knowledgeable in their field of study they must be able to demonstrate the qualities of an effective teacher as outlined by the Standards Council.

They must also have the skills and attributes to relate to their students at a personal level, sharing in the responsibility for their personal development through pastoral, co-curricular, sporting and camping programs.

Teachers are also required to utilise technology as integral parts of the teaching and eLearning process. Primarily though, we look to our teachers to inspire a life long love of learning, to be flexible in approach, caring in attitude, energetic and fun loving.
