As part of the Billanook College Primary School, children in the Early Learning Program get the opportunity to engage in an a range of co-curricular activities that help their personal development and growth. These include:
Physical Education is a vital component of Primary Education at Billanook College. The emphasis of the program is to develop skills, have fun and promote positive attitudes toward physical activity. Physical Education is a comprehensive program that includes fitness, ball skills, athletics, gymnastics and swimming.
In the Prep, Year 1 and Year 2, lessons focus on skill acquisition. In Years 3 – 6, lessons build on the skills acquired in the younger years. Students in Year 5 and 6 also compete in weekly interschool Sport in the Mooroolbark District Sports Association and all levels participate in a sequential Swimming Program that aims to develop water skills, confidence and stroke technique.
Annual athletics, swimming and cross country whole-school Primary carnivals are a feature of the sporting calendar. Students compete in age and house based teams.
Opportunities to qualify at a District, State and National level are available across a range of sports for all students.
Outdoor Education provides children with new and challenging activities. These experiences enhance their physical skills as well as foster social attitudes, knowledge of their environment and development of personal character. By engaging in outdoor education, students will gain a better appreciation of the fragile balance between humans and their environment.
Billanook provides students with the opportunity to attend a number of Study Tours and Camps:

Year 2 – School overnight stay
Year 3 – Gundawindi outdoor education experience, 3 Days
Year 4/5 – Portsea Coastal Environment Tour 4 Days
Year 6 – Canberra Study Tour 5 Days
